I never figured I’d jump on the band wagon of a fitness trend but i’m so glad I opted into this one. I’m a fitbit fanatic!
This little device has completely changed how I view fitness. Before I got this if I didn’t have a dedicated three quarters of an hour to grind out some type of work out then I would just shrug it off and count it a lost day. I am so glad I have abandoned this negative way of thinking about my workouts and health! Now that I have my fitbit i’m finding even small ways in five or ten minute intervals to MOVE more. Instead of driving to go get lunch at work I’m walking just so that I can see the little numbers climb on the display. It makes me feel extremely satisfied and empowered when i see the hundreds of steps tick away!
I’m finding myself speed walking loops around the parking complex at my work on breaks just to get some extra steps in and ten minutes here and there has really been adding up. A couple months ago I came to the realization that my life and physic had dropped away from under me and I had become sedentary. I was a far cry from the sturdy yoga practicing hiker that I was just a few years ago and the sheer weight of what I had lost and what had happened to my body hit me. I decided to get it back.
A few weeks in I picked up a fitbit just to see if it would work for me and it has been a tremendous motivator. I’m close to getting my 10,000 recommended steps per day and I can’t wait to see where it takes me after that!
Every step really does count.
