I got my fitbit in November of last year and was appalled to find out that getting even 5,000 steps a day was a chore and barely achievable. I started out with a goal of 4,000 a day and slowly increased that each week or so as I started to feel better walking and have less trouble with my asthma. I started doing yoga again in December to loosen my muscles and help prevent injury and really stepped it up on my steps recently. I am proud to say that for the first time since I started wearing this little device day in and day out I have reached that magical 70,000 recommended step goal for the week!
What at first seemed impossible I now know I can achieve. I feel very empowered and exultant! Even with my asthma I have worked up to it and in just two months at that! It almost feels like a weight off my shoulders that I didn’t know was there hanging over me. I think if I put my mind to it I can do so much more than I ever thought I would be physically able to do. This 10,000 steps per day is my new minimum and I can only go up from here. I’m overflowing with positive thoughts haha. Amazing what a boost a little win can give you.
